How to Invite and Manage Users in Assist
This guide outlines the process of adding new team members to your Assist organization, how they accept the invitation, and how to manage their user roles (such as promoting a Member to an Admin).
Note: To invite users or change user settings, you must have Owner or Admin permissions for your account.
1. Inviting a New User
Follow these steps to send an invitation to a colleague:
- Navigate to Settings: On the main dashboard, look at the bottom left sidebar and click on Organisation. From the pop-up menu, select Settings.
- Access User Management: In the Settings menu, click on the Users tab on the left-hand side. This will show a list of all current users.
- Send Invite: Click the purple + Invite User button in the top right corner.
- Enter Details: A dialogue box will appear. Type in the email address of the person you wish to invite.
- Confirm: Click Send Invite. The user will appear in your list under "Pending Invitations."
2. The User Acceptance Process
Once you have sent the invite, the new user will need to complete the following steps:
- Receive Email: They will receive an email with the subject "Welcome to Wooshii!" containing a confirmation link.
Confirm Account: They must click the Confirm my account button in the email.
Create Credentials: They will be directed to a secure page to:
- Create a password.
- Enter their Given Name and Family Name.
- Accept Invitation: After entering their details, a "You've Been Invited!" screen will appear. They must click the Accept Invitation button to finalize the process and access the dashboard.
3. Managing User Roles & Removing Users
By default, new users join as "Members." If you need to grant them administrative privileges or remove them, follow these steps:
To Change a Role:
- Return to Organisation > Settings > Users.
- Locate the specific user in the list.
- Click the Role dropdown menu next to their name (currently set to "Member").
- Select Admin. The user now has full administrative rights.
To Remove a User:
- In the same User list, click the Red Trash Can icon on the far right of the user's row to remove their access to the organization.
