AI Instructions for Knowledge

Assist 2.0 lets you add specific instructions to a piece of knowledge that tell the agent how to use it — for example, enforcing a tone of voice, or avoiding certain statements or acronyms.

When you open a piece of knowledge, there is an optional input field titled "AI instructions."

Use this field to direct the agent to:

  • Adhere to a desired tone of voice
  • Avoid certain statements, phrases, or acronyms
  • Apply any other rules you want followed whenever this knowledge is used

This works at both the global knowledge base level and on individual project knowledge.

Examples

  • "Always respond in a formal tone when citing this document."
  • "Do not use the acronym 'KPI' — write 'key performance indicator' in full."
  • "Only reference this knowledge when the user explicitly asks about pricing."

Instructions can be set to ensure the content aligns with user preferences or restrictions.
