Image Generation
This guide explains how to generate, edit, and refine images using AI text prompts in Assist 2.0.
1. Generating your first images
You don't need to pick a template manually — just ask Project Assist in chat.
-
In any chat, type a message describing the image you want.
- Example: "Make an image of a cat"
- Project Assist will find the right image generation template, create a new output (e.g. Cat image — Image Generator Created), and open the Output Editor on the right.
- Once generation finishes, you'll see a grid of four images, labelled 1, 2, 3, and 4.

You can also click Open on the output card in the chat to expand the image output in full.
2. Editing an image using text
You can change any image in the grid by referring to its number.
-
Pick the image you want to change (e.g. image #1).
In the chat, type a prompt that references the number and the change you want.
- Example: "please edit number 1 and make the cat jump"
- Project Assist generates a new version of that specific image in place.
- To compare versions, click the image in the grid. A preview opens showing the new version (V2) alongside the original (V1) so you can compare them side by side.

3. Editing an image using an uploaded file
You can also bring in your own image as a reference for the edit.
- In the chat, click the + icon next to the message bar to upload a file.
- Choose an image from your device.
-
The file will appear attached in your chat input.
In the same message, type a prompt telling Project Assist how to use the uploaded image and which existing image to edit.
- Example: "please edit image #2 and have the grinch holding the cat"
- Project Assist combines the uploaded image with your prompt and replaces image #2 with the new result.
- Click the new image to open the preview, where you can download it.

Tips
- You don't need to go hunting for the image template — just describe what you want and Project Assist will pick the right one.
- Always refer to images by their number (1-4) when asking for edits — it's the clearest way to tell Project Assist which one you mean.
- Use the preview window to compare versions before deciding which to keep or download.
- You can keep iterating on the same image; each edit creates a new version you can compare against earlier ones.
