How to Upload Files Using Drag and Drop in Assist 2.0

Upload files directly into Assist 2.0 by dragging and dropping them from your desktop or folder. It's fast, simple, and works with any file type.

Overview

Assist 2.0 lets you upload files — images, documents, spreadsheets, and more — straight into a chat using drag and drop. Once uploaded, you can ask Assist to summarise, analyse, or use the file however you need.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open a Chat in Assist 2.0

Start by navigating to your workspace. From there you can either:

  • Start a new chat — Just start talking in the main chat input. There's no need to pick a template or set up a project first — Assist 2.0 will handle that for you based on what you ask.
  • Continue an existing chat — Select any previous conversation from your sidebar to pick up where you left off.

Either way, you'll see the chat input field ready for your message.

Step 2: Find Your File(s)

Locate the file(s) you want to upload on your computer:

  • Open your desktop, a folder, or your file explorer/finder.
  • You can select one file or multiple files at once (hold Ctrl on Windows or Cmd on Mac to select multiple).

Step 3: Drag and Drop into the Chat

  1. Click and hold your selected file(s).
  2. Drag them over to the Assist 2.0 chat window.
  3. Hover over the chat input field — you'll see a drop zone indicator appear, confirming the area is active.
  4. Release the mouse button to drop the files.

Your file(s) will appear as thumbnails inside the input box, ready to be sent.

Step 4: Use Your Uploaded Files

Once your files are uploaded, type a message alongside them to tell Assist what you need. For example:

  • "Summarise this document for me"
  • "What's shown in these images?"
  • "Use these files to create a report"

Assist 2.0 picks up the files right away and is ready to help — and if your request needs a project, template, or agent to fulfil it, it'll set that up automatically in the background.
