Producing Outputs in Word and PowerPoint Templates

Assist 2.0 allows you to automate the creation of documents by producing outputs directly into your custom Microsoft Word (.docx) and PowerPoint (.pptx) templates. This ensures that the content you generate is not only high-quality but also instantly formatted to your brand standards.

This guide covers how to set up your Assist 2.0 environment to produce these outputs effectively.

1. Configure Your Template in Assist 2.0

To produce an output, you first need to tell Assist 2.0 what kind of content to generate.

  • Go to Library > Templates.
  • Click Create Template, or edit an existing one.
  • Define Sections: Create specific fields for the content you need (e.g., "Main Title," "Executive Summary," "Key Statistics").
  • Add Instructions: For each section, provide the AI with specific instructions on what to write.

💡 Tip: You don't always need to build templates manually. In the chat, you can describe the document you want and Assist 2.0 will create a reusable template for you. If a similar template already exists in your workspace, it will reuse that one instead of making a duplicate.

2. Prepare Your Word or PowerPoint File

Once your template is configured, Assist 2.0 generates unique Tags for each section. You will use these to "mark" where the content should go in your file.

  • Locate Tags: In the template editor, look under Document Template > How to make a template.

    Identify Tag Types:

    • 🟣 Block Tags: For standalone paragraphs or titles. (Must be on their own line.)
    • 🔵 Inline Tags: For inserting text into the middle of a sentence.

3. Insert Tags into Your Document

  • Copy the tag from Assist 2.0.
  • Open your Microsoft Word or PowerPoint file.
  • Highlight the placeholder text you wish to replace.
  • Paste the tag.

⚠️ Important Formatting Rule: To ensure your final output looks correct, you must use "Paste and Match Formatting" (Mac) or "Keep Text Only" (Windows) when pasting tags. This forces the tag to adopt the font, size, and colour of your document, ensuring the final text matches your branding.

4. Generate and Export

  • Upload your tagged file back into the Document Template area of your template and save.
  • Start a new chat and ask Assist 2.0 to generate an output using your template, or open the template directly and run it from there.
  • Enter your prompt to generate the content.
  • Review the generated text in the preview window.
  • Click Export to download your final produced output in your native file format.
