Copy Section Feature

Overview

The Copy Section feature in Assist 2.0 lets you quickly duplicate any section of a document's content to your clipboard. It's a fast way to reuse content across projects, keep messaging consistent, and feed specific bits of a document back into chat without sharing the whole thing.

How to Copy a Section

Step 1: Open your document

  • Open your workspace in Assist 2.0
  • Navigate to the project containing the document you want to work with
  • Open the document

Step 2: Locate the Copy Section button

  • Hover your cursor over the section you want to copy
  • The Copy Section icon (two overlapping pages) will appear in the section's toolbar

Step 3: Copy the section

  • Click the Copy Section icon
  • A confirmation message will appear: "Section copied to clipboard"
  • The entire section's content is now on your clipboard

Step 4: Paste and use the content

Navigate to where you want to use the copied content. This can be:

  • The chat interface in Assist 2.0 (Just Start Talking)
  • Another section in the same document
  • A different document entirely
  • Any external application

Paste using your standard paste command (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V). The content is ready to edit or use as-is.

Use Cases

Content Reuse

Quickly duplicate sections you need to reference or adapt in multiple places within a project.

Consistency

Maintain consistent formatting and messaging by copying proven sections rather than recreating them from scratch.

Working with chat

Paste a specific section straight into the chat to ask the agent to rewrite, summarise, translate, or expand it — without having to share or reference the whole document.

Template Creation

Build reusable templates by copying well-structured sections and adapting them for new purposes.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Quick Access: The Copy Section button only appears on hover, keeping the interface clean
  • Perfect Duplication: Content is copied exactly as it appears, preserving formatting
  • Clipboard Integration: Works with your system clipboard, so you can paste anywhere
  • Chat Integration: Pasting a section into chat is the fastest way to ask the agent to act on just that part of a document

Troubleshooting

Copy Section button not appearing

  • Make sure you're hovering directly over the section content
  • Check that you have edit permissions for the document
  • Refresh the page if the interface seems unresponsive

Content not pasting correctly

  • Verify the content was copied successfully (look for the confirmation message)
  • Try copying the section again
  • Check that the destination supports the content format
