How to Turn Press Releases into Social Media Posts
Learn how to use Assist 2.0 to transform press releases into platform-optimised LinkedIn and Instagram posts in seconds.
Overview
Assist 2.0 lets you repurpose press release content into ready-to-publish social media posts directly from the main chat. Just describe what you want, drop in your press release link or file, and Assist will generate tailored content for multiple platforms in one go — no need to pick an output type or template first.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open a new chat
From your workspace, start a new chat. You'll land straight in the unified chat interface — there's no need to select an output type up front. Assist 2.0 will work out what to create based on your request.
2. Type your request
In the message field, describe what you want. For example:
Write a 100-word LinkedIn post and a 100-word Instagram post based on the attached press release.
3. Add your press release
You have two options:
- Paste a link to your press release directly into the message
- Attach the document to the chat using the attachment button
4. Send and generate
Press Enter or click Send. Assist will plan the work, then generate platform-optimised content for both posts. You'll see its activity as it works — once finished, the tool steps collapse and the final posts are shown in the response.
5. Review and copy
- Review the generated LinkedIn post
- Review the generated Instagram post
- Use the Copy button on each post to paste straight into your social media platforms
Tips for Best Results
✅ Be specific with word counts or character limits for each platform
✅ Include tone guidance (e.g., "professional tone for LinkedIn, casual for Instagram")
✅ Request specific elements like hashtags, emojis, or calls-to-action
✅ Use the same workflow for other content repurposing needs (blogs, reports, internal comms, etc.)
✅ If you find yourself making the same request often, ask Assist to save it as a reusable template or agent — next time, it'll pick that up automatically instead of starting from scratch
Example Request
Write a 100-word LinkedIn post with a professional tone, and a 100-word Instagram post with 5 relevant hashtags, based on this press release: [paste link or attach document]
