We've shipped a small but powerful update that makes working with PDFs significantly smoother.

What's New:

  • Automatic PDF Compression: Large PDF files uploaded to Knowledge sources or directly in Chat are now automatically compressed behind the scenes, preserving content quality while reducing file size.
  • Expanded File Support: Previously problematic PDFs in the 50-400MB range should now upload and process successfully without manual intervention.

No action needed on your endβ€”just upload your PDFs as usual and we'll handle the rest. This means less time wrestling with file sizes and more time getting value from your documents.

Note: While this update dramatically improves PDF handling, extremely large files (500MB+) may still encounter processing limitations. We recommend breaking these into smaller documents for optimal performance.

We've introduced a comprehensive template builder, empowering users to create, edit, and manage their own Intelligent Output Templates directly within the platform. This removes the previous dependency on pre-built templates or managed builds from the Assist team.


  • New 'Workspace Templates' Section: A dedicated area has been added to the left-hand navigation menu for creating and managing custom templates at the workspace level.

    Full Template Customisation: Users now have granular control over all template attributes via the new builder UI:

    • Template Details: Set a unique name, description, and icon for easy identification.
    • AI Instructions: Configure both the initial "Welcome Message" for the user and the overarching "System Prompt" to define the AI's core role and behaviour for the template.
    • Custom Template Sections: Add, name, and reorder multiple sections to build a unique document structure. Each section includes its own specific AI instruction field.
    • Visibility Controls: Set templates to 'Private' (visible only to the creator during development) or 'Public' (visible to all members of the workspace).
